Lipoma is a benign tumor composed of mature adipose tissue. The tumor in the oral cavity is relatively rare, accounting for only 2–5% of oral benign tumors, and usually appears after the third decade of life. A case of relatively large lipoma in the floor of the mouth in an 82-year-old woman who complained of masticatory disturbance and difficulties in pronunciation was reported. The patient was treated by simple surgical excision and has been followed up 1 year and 6 months to date with no sign of recurrence.
