An assessment of the severity of paraquat poisoning in 128 patients was performed by the discriminant analysis method. The discriminant function proved to have a high reliability in indicating toxicological significance in our cases. It is suggested that the discriminant function score is of great value for the assessment of the severity of the poisoning and for the prediction of the outcome in an early stage for the purpose of toxicology, clinical and forensic.
